Our paradise is located in the village of Nowy Jasień, at the foot of the Spalski Landscape Park, where you will find many hiking trails, bike paths, ponds and historical places to visit. We have Stajnia Nowy Jasień as our neighbors – for lovers not only of dogs, but also of horses. The Pilica River flows nearby, which is teeming with numerous kayaking trips. Just 15 minutes from our village is Spała – a small resort town where there are a few pubs and the best waffles in the world. You can relax after training! We are 20 minutes away from the Sulejowski Reservoir, where there are many beaches with a gentle descent. Our village is well connected with larger cities, thanks to the S8 route that runs nearby. We are close to both Łódź and Warsaw.
Our training ground has dimensions of 45×60 meters, which gives 2700 m² of training surface and a full-size parkour agility. And this is just a fragment of our 1.2 hectare plot! We have professional, safe and modern agility obstacles.
We traveled the world separately until one day our paths crossed. That’s how I moved out of Łódź and Krystian became a dog lover, even though he had never even had a goldfish before. Did I know that I would one day live in the countryside with a pack of dogs? Yes. Did Krystian see his future that way? I have no idea, neither did he.
It’s really hard to find someone who would even accept the burdensome passion of owning dogs, let alone the commitment and equally strong love for dogs. But it happened. Krystian’s first meeting with my dogs ended with him lying on the floor, covered in fur, cuddling with them. Then we took Hazy together, and then Uzi joined our family at Krystian’s initiative… That’s how we both became dog people. I’m grateful to fate for such a turn of events.
“On this random planet, we are alone. None of the life forms surrounding us, except for the dog, has made a pact with us.”
– Maurice Maeterlinck
My presence in this world is dictated by a series of events in which a dog played a crucial role. In 1990, my mother went to a woman who bred white miniature poodles to buy one of the puppies. From my mother’s side, our family always had dogs. They were an integral part of our home and members of our family. She left the breeding with a puppy and a new acquaintance – my father.
And although this story does not have a romantic happy ending, its fruit, which is me, remained, and as they say, you can’t change your genes. I inherited a love for dogs. It seems to me that it was inevitable.
So dogs have been with me my whole life. I haven’t lived a single day of my life without a dog. I wouldn’t want to. My first dog was Najka, a white miniature poodle, the heroine of the above story. Najka was with us for 17 years and died when I was 15. When Najka was still alive, Ajs joined our family. A mutt that my mother bought for me at a bazaar, she brought him straight from the box when I was 11 years old. It wasn’t the wisest decision. Ajs struggled with major aggression problems, and I had very limited knowledge and resources to deal with it at the time.
When Ajs was still with us, Lary joined our family in 2008. A six-month-old, biscuit-colored Labrador. My first pedigree dog, with whom I had great hopes. I was 17 years old at the time. I joined the cynological association, started going to shows and training. Lary opened up to me a world of cynology that I had not known before. I began to learn about its various fields – after all, cynology is a very extensive field. Besides, Lary was my best friend. He went to school and wagged with me, I smuggled him with my favorite lecturer to classes at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Łódź. He went with me to pubs, where I met friends from college, and I also regularly took him for pizza – he loved eating crusts. I owe him what I do now and where I am today. Thanks to him, ZdaniemPsa.pl was created.
Lary was with me for a wonderful 9 years. He died after a long illness on August 9, 2018. You can read about it on the blog – Lary’s Memory.
In 2014, Ziva joined us. My first border. The more I immersed myself in cynology, the more it shaped what I would most like to do. I wanted to try my hand at agility and frisbee, and Lary had limited physical abilities and simply wasn’t made for jumping. This is how Ziva appeared, about whom you can read more in the “Ziva” tab.
In 2020, Hazy joined us. As you probably rightly guessed – the name Hazy Hills comes from her name. Hazy is definitely the dog of my life, the fulfillment of dreams, and has brought me a lot of happiness and joy. I call her my Dajmon or Patronus. I am biased to think that there are no flaws in her. She compensated me for all the hardships I went through with Ziva and gave me a shot of totally pure and unclouded joy of having a dog and training with her.
Shortly thereafter, at the end of 2021, Uzi joined us. The relationship between Hazy and Uzi is very close and not accidental – our third dog was to be as similar in temperament to Hazy as possible. Did it work? Yes and no. Uzi, like Hazy, is an adorable and lovely creature, generously giving kisses. However, she is more emotional, soft, and distant from strangers than Hazy. Are these flaws? No. Uzi promises to be a fantastic sports dog and we can’t wait to see what she will grow into.
I am a dog training instructor by profession, although before I decided on this path, my road was long and winding. I also dealt with, and sometimes still deal with, photography, computer graphics design, and website design. I also studied for a while at the philosophical department of the University of Łódź, looking for my way. I run a school in Łódź called ZdaniemPsa.pl, which had its beginnings as a blog founded in 2010. The Hazy Hills project is my newest child, created with the greatest ambition so far.
I found my niche in the industry. I work with sporty, reactive, and fearful dogs. My interests lie primarily in agility. I love working with shepherds. The most joy and satisfaction come from motivational and sports classes. I also like working with young people and telling them what I lacked when I took my first steps in working with dogs. I have a holistic approach to dog training. I also believe that a dog is too complex a creature to be put into the framework of “positive work” or “aversive work”. I always try to find a golden mean in cooperation with the dog and its guardian, respecting the dog and its comfort.
Krystian is a neurologist by profession and a dog lover by passion. He quickly immersed himself in this madness and transformed from a person who only knew where the front and back of a dog were to someone who knows pedigrees, trains dogs, and runs agility. One cannot deny his talent, athletics, which he trained in high school, finally came in handy.
At home, he is a good cop. A person who likes to pet dogs, order treats, and search for novelties to make our dogs’ lives even better. He also serves an unofficial managerial role – worrying about expenses, chasing timely tax payments, and running our Instagram account, which he himself created. He is irreplaceable. You will soon meet him at the competitions with Uzi, with whom he is preparing for the starts.
